Guidelines – Abstract Submission

We invite you to submit abstracts on childhood glaucoma in the following categories;

  1. Free Papers
  2. Physical Posters
  3. Challenging cases and surgical innovations or complications (this can be video as well)
  4. Video

General Guidelines

  1. Each person can submit a total of 4 abstracts as presenting author, and 4 more as a co-author
  2. Abstracts are to be submitted online only. No abstracts shall be accepted as an email, Fax, Hard copies etc
  3. All abstracts received by the indicated abstract submission timeline shall undergo an evaluation process involving independent evaluators
  4. The details of acceptance as oral presentation/poster/challenging case/surgical innovation/complication and video together with technical details for presentation/ poster will be notified to the presenting author.
  5. The Presenting author should have registered for the meeting.
  6. Virtual Presentations will NOT be permitted.
  7. Institution / Hospital affiliation / Doctor’s name in the title or in the body of abstract should not be mentioned and will lead to automatic rejection.
  8. Awards will be given to the presenting author only/ if not a member then the senior author who is a IPGS member will be awarded

Free Paper/ Poster

Abstract Structure
Title: The title SHOULD NOT exceed 100 characters (including spaces).

Synopsis: The synopsis / abstract SHOULD NOT exceed 1000 characters (including spaces). It should follow the sequence of Aim of study, Material & Methods, Results & Conclusions without mentioning the sub-headings so as to save character counts.

The best 20 poster which displayed as Physical Poster, rest will be displayed as E-Poster.

Who can submit the abstracts?

  • The chief author shall be submitting the abstract of the free paper/ poster
  • Submission can have one chief author, one presenting author and upto 3 co-authors (5 authors in total).
  • The chief author himself / herself can be the presenting author
  • One of the authors should be a ratified member of IPGS
  • Presenting Author should be ratified member of IPGS if contesting for an award.
  • Non-members can be a presenting author /co-authors and will not be eligible for any award.

Only life members and associate members can participate in various competitive sessions. The international members can present their work done in India in the non-competitive session only.

How Many Abstracts Can Be Submitted?

  • Each member can be a presenting author in a total of 4 abstracts
  • After evaluation if it is not selected for free paper, it will be considered for posters

Points To Be Noted While Submitting

  • At the time of submission, separate placeholders shall be provided for the text of abstracts and other information.
  • Names of authors and Institutional/hospital affiliation and or title of abstract should be mentioned in respective placeholders only.
  • Any author or institution related information revealed in the abstract are will lead to automatic rejection.
  • However, at the time of presentation, name of presenting author only (not of institution/co- authors/guide/head etc.) may be mentioned.
  • Please check for spelling, capitalisation, grammar, etc since the abstract shall be exactly as provided by the author

Evaluation And Selection

  • All abstracts will be evaluated by a panel of experts
  • Based on the evaluation, a member can present a maximum of 2 free papers
  • If two abstracts of the same presenting author are selected in same category, by virtue of their submission, the paper with higher valuation will be given the opportunity of presentation in the conference

Free Paper Full Text

  • The authors of free papers selected for oral presentation need to submit the full text of paper as attachment as MS word file (not more than 2500 words – excluding abstract and references and 6 photographs) of not more than 5 MB file size.
  • The option to upload the full text shall be available in the abstract submission portal.
  • The authors of the selected abstract have to login into the portal to access the link to upload the full text.
  • The last date of submission of full text shall be published in the “Important dates” page in the IPGS site

Presentation

  • Free paper presentation duration is 6 minutes only.
  • There is 1 award for free paper
  • The accepted free paper will be given the opportunity of oral presentation.

Guideline For Physical Poster Submission
The following are the guidelines for Physical Poster presentation:
All presenters must register and pay the delegate fees to attend the annual meeting. The posters need to be put up by Morning by 9:00 am on 12th December 2025 Poster boards to put up the posters will be available from 11th evening onwards with your CC no. and title displayed on it. The posters should be removed by 4:00 pm on 13th evening. Posters remaining on the poster boards after the removal deadline will be removed by IPGS and will be discarded. Presenting author will need to be present next to their poster during the judging session, the day and time for which will be communicated to you shortly

Detailed guidelines for poster will be intimated later on IPGS site
The best 20 posters according to the validation will be displayed as physical poster.

Challenging cases or surgical innovation

Abstracts for clinical/surgical challenges/innovation/complications can be submitted with guidelines as below.

Abstract Guidelines

Abstract Title
The title of the course SHOULD NOT exceed 100 characters (including spaces).

Structure

  • Please limit your abstract to 1000 characters (including spaces)
  • It can be unstructured with the following salient features: Novelty or Challenge; Description of the Case; Management or Diagnostic Challenge; or a surgical complication
  • Do not use proprietary names alone in the title or body of the abstract. If necessary, you may include a proprietary name in parentheses directly after the generic name on first use in the body of the abstract.
  • Authors: Presenting author: Name, degree, place of work, current position /Affiliation
  • Co-authors: Name, degree, place of work, current position should be included
  • Note: Did the co-authors consent for the current submission: YES/NO

Guidelines For Video

Abstract Structure
Abstract Title:The title should not exceed 100 characters (including spaces).

  • The chief author himself /herself can be the presenting author.
  • One of the author should be a ratified member of IPGS
  • Presenting Author should be ratified member of IPGS if contesting for an award.
  • Non-members can be co-authors only and will not be eligible for any award.
  • Non-ratified members, who have applied for IPGS membership/Associate
  • Membership can submit video abstracts as presenting author but will not be eligible for any award.

How Many Abstracts Can Be Submitted

  • Each presenting author can submit 2 videos.
  • A member can be a co-author in 2 videos.

Points To Be Noted While Submitting

  • At the time of submission, separate placeholders shall be provided for the text of abstracts and other information.
  • Names of authors and Institutional/hospital affiliation and or title or abstract should be mentioned in respective placeholders only.
  • Any author or institution related information revealed in the abstract area will lead to automatic rejection.
  • However, at the time of presentation, the name of the presenting author alone can be added in the video.

Preparation Of The Video

  • The duration of the video is 6 (six) minutes only.
  • The videos shall contain voice overs.
  • The video has to be submitted in mp4 format.

Copyright Issues

  • Please ensure that the music, audio or image used in the video does not have any copyright issues.
  • Please do not use any recognisable patient images in the video or if used the prior consent need to taken for the same.
  • By submitting your video you agree to indemnify and defend the society and the
  • organising committee from all claims based on copyright infringement.

Certificate

The Scientific Committee shall issue a certificate of presentation to ONLY the PRESENTING author of the free paper/Poster/Challenging case who had presented at the conference.

Awards

The best of sessions for oral presentation, Poster, Challenging case and Video will be awarded and recognised by the IPGS Scientific Committee.

Wet-lab

The wet-lab will take place on 14th December 2025 details of which will be intimated later on IPGS website.
